How to think outside of the box?

A common phrase – you will agree. Yet often uttered by people who think inside the box.

So what is thinking outside the box? Can it be learned?

Growing up, we gathered different knowledge, imitated others, and adopted different habits. Too seldom we asked questions about whether what we have learned is true or whether it can be otherwise.
We never wondered why a chair looks the way it does, whether it can stand upside down, just as we never wondered why the sky is blue or why the sun is yellow or even if that economic theory is that good.
Teachers and parents taught us to accept things as given, as immutable.

If we stopped for a moment to observe the history of man, we would see that the world as we know it today is so changeable.
Let’s go back only a hundred years. What can we see?
Most state borders are not the same, some sciences are not yet developed. The buildings are not the same. There is no internet. There is hardly any electricity. Nothing is the same, except for a man who wonders why everything is the way it is and whether it can be better.

The same thing is with Marketing.

Someone had to sell those apples or trade them for sheep, right?
Someone had to know what and how much to offer to another, but also how to negotiate?

Merchants and performers did not wear colorful costumes so that no one could see them, but just the opposite – something like brand awareness these days. At that time lot of attention was paid to building a personal brand – it is no wonder why it is still present today.

History and economics, music and art, much more than a couple of courses on a blog, can teach you about overall marketing or how to create a strategy, write a post or design a logo.

It is not the most important thing to monitor changes in the algorithm. – The most important thing is to follow the social and psychological changes of the person you are addressing at that moment

Can we do better? How? To get an answer, we must first ask a question. This is called thinking outside the box.
